MoonDaze Productions decided to shoot a video featuring singer Breck Stewart who shares his views on DRM (Digital Rights Management) technology. Integrated directly into Windows Vista from Microsoft and in Blu-Ray and HD-DVD dics, DRM is a process that comes in the way of people's rights of faire use with digital files.
Breck is a vocal activist against this technology which was built to combat piracy but ends up hurting loyal and honest customers. By adding this debilitating process directly into the kernel of Windows Vista, Microsoft crossed a line that signals the end of the era where everyone could trust them. They spent 5 years and billions of dollars to construct a new operating system containing digital locks rendering the system unreliable, slow and dangerous for your privacy.
Vista was contructed allegedly to protect HD (High Definition video) files such as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD from being copied but will hurt a lot of honest consumers who have no idea that they are buying a very expensive and degraded system which spies on them. This video was released to public domain by MoonDaze Productions to help the cause. Therefore you can post, embed or link to it on any other web sites without restrictions.
We are also busy shooting another video, this one featuring the second clip and single "Be Integrated" from Breck's Album Utopia. This new one requires a lot of post-production work and therefore won't be released until many months but still centers on the subject of DRM, depicting just how insidious and sneaky it can be.
THANK YOU.
